This past year has brought so many challenges in the food business; but, at JD Food, our mission has stayed the same, to connect our community with fresh.local.honest.food. The past several weeks have been extremely exciting here in Central California as restaurants and events are more and more open; however, this growth has given us the opportunity to refine our processes at JD Food in order to better serve our customers moving forward. These JD Food procedural changes will ensure: our trucks get out earlier, deliver your order in your desired delivery window and we deliver the essential meats and supplies your business needs!
With that in mind, effective Monday, May 10, 2021
Updated Cutoff Times:
Order Cutoff Time: 3:30 pm for next day delivery
Online Order Cutoff Time: 3:30 pm for next day pick up
This will allow our logistics team to route earlier, get early routes picked sooner, and lead to getting trucks out in a timely manner the next morning.
Delivery Order Minimum: $500 (up from $400)
JD Food’s new order minimum for delivery is $500. Also, we are eliminating the option for customers to pay an additional delivery fee for orders below the minimum, so please keep in mind the new minimum is a hard minimum and needs to be reached on every order. For some customers, it might mean increases to existing orders. For others, it might mean consolidating number of deliveries in a given week (i.e. instead of taking 3 $400 deliveries, it might need to shift to 2 $600 deliveries). City of Fresno/Clovis Dark Drop Option:
Is a JD Food dark drop delivery right for your food business? We are working to develop a dark drop city of Fresno route for customers looking for very early delivery. Please reach out to your JD Food Sales representative for more information.
Special Order / New Item Approval Process: Management Approval
While we strive to meet customer requests and bring in items not found elsewhere, we are currently in a mode where adding new or special items hinder our ability to get trucks out in a timely manner. These special orders / new items will be evaluated on a case by case basis depending on customer and will require management approval. Thus, special order and new items will take more processing time. Check with your JD Sales representative to see if a special order is right for your timelines and business needs.
