Best of the Valley Restaurant Awards
Anyone in the restaurant industry will tell you how tiresome and unrelenting their work can be. It doesn’t matter if you are an owner, manager, chef, front-of-house, back-of-house, marketing, or even a manufacturing or distribution partner …there is no getting away from the long hours and often unrewarding nature of this industry. That’s why The Best Of The Valley Awards event was started nearly thirty years ago by the Fresno Chapter of the California Restaurant Association. It’s an evening set aside, once a year, to celebrate the hard work and excellence within our local restaurant industry. This event is framed by an always-delicious multi-course dinner, and honors over a hundred nominees in dozens of categories. (full nominee link) We also get to celebrate a lifetime achievement award, and this year they have even added a very exciting “People’s Choice Award” that can only be voted on by those that attend the event. So join us on Monday, March 2nd, for this year’s celebration of our local restaurant industry. It will be a night of great food, lots of fun, awards, live musical entertainment and even an after-party with drinks and dancing!
The thing that makes this event so special for those of us in the restaurant world is that these awards mean so much! To hear that your blood, sweat, and tears have earned you some much-deserved recognition makes it all worthwhile. Some recognition is all we’re really looking for anyway, right? (I mean, plus the Food Network contract and the millions of dollars…)
Not to mention that these awards really pique curiosity in diners to go out and try a whole new list of restaurants that maybe they’ve never tried before. Anything that helps get people into the door is always welcome.
